We fix your truck where it is, even if it doesn’t start or run.
We fix it even if the other guys tried and couldn’t.
We charge $190 for a computer diagnosis with a written report to you, if you bring your truck to our shop in Honokaa. If the truck isn’t running we charge $190 for the diagnosis plus travel time at $95/hour both ways to and from Honokaa to your location.
Both ways? It’s still much cheaper than a tow. We make sure we know what’s wrong before we begin repairs; we never throw parts at it (what’s that?).
Throwing parts at it looks like this: your backyard mechanic thinks your IDM (Injector Driver Module) and your PCM (Powertrain Control Module) are bad, so he replaces them. The IDM is $659 and the PCM is $897, and you just spent $1,556 on parts.
But it’s not fixed. We put the computer on it, it tells us the CPS is the problem (Camshaft Position Sensor, $87.99 at NAPA), it takes us less than an hour to put one in and it fixes the truck.

If you text or email Tim a photo of your VIN (looks like the photo below) at 808-640-nineteen eighty-one, then he can pull up information on your vehicle such as engine size, month and year model, which really helps him. This is usually somewhere on the driver’s side door frame.
